IAS Service (Improved Access Service - Norwich Pilot)
The UEA Medical Centre has agreed to take part in a national initiative to provide additional routine appointments for patients across the Norwich area. These appointments are not provided by the UEA Medical Centre staff, but by an external provider.
These appointments available are limited, but will be provided during early evenings on weekdays and Saturday mornings.
Unfortunately, they are currently only offered at Lionwood Medical Practice which is located on the other side of the city and therefore more accessible for patients with their own transport. Click here to view map location.
These appointments are for routine medical issues (not urgent) and may be undertaken by either a doctor or nurse practitioner. Please be absolutely clear to the receptionist when booking if you think that your medical issue is something that can only be dealt with by a doctor. The nurse practitioner will not deal with any mental health issues.
We expect these additional appointments to start to become available for the UEA Medical Centre patients towards the end of October.
Important information - please note:
! We have been asked to provide a brief reason for your visit, therefore the receptionist will ask this upon booking.
! If you have agreed to the booking of this appointment, you are aware the external provider will need to view your medical record during the consultation, therefore you have agreed to share your medical record information with them.
If you have any problems or dissatisfaction when attending for one of these appointments, please let us know as we are keen to get feedback - either positive or negative. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org and put the term 'IAS comment' in the subject line.
